Distance doesn’t make the heart grow fonder. It triggers a shifter’s instinct to possess.
They say if you love someone set them free. If they come back, they’re yours. If not, they never were.
I followed this advice. Sort of. My beloved human stole my car and skipped town before I could figure out why I craved her.
Now Zoe’s back. On my turf. Under my rules. And she’s never leaving me again. I’ll make sure of it. Even if I have to trigger her instincts and get her hooked on loving me. I don’t mind playing dirty. As long as I win.
And when the male who killed Zoe’s family targets her again, I’ll risk everything, including my pride, to ensure Zoe never loses again. The jaded, free-spirited human is mine. And I’m hers. I have the Property of Zoe Conway pet tag to prove it.
But I do pity the male who thinks to challenge my tie to Zoe. He knows nothing about what possessiveness can do to a man. I do, though. And I’ll die to keep what’s mine.
